ABOUT THE PROJECT

About our fake
name generator.

FAKE NAME STUDIO creates coherent fictional people for the moments when a project needs believable placeholder data—not a real person.

Why we built it

Design mockups, test databases, classroom exercises and stories often need more than a random first and last name. This tool combines a name with coordinated personal, location, employment and life details so you can create useful examples quickly and keep your attention on the work that matters.

How fictional profiles are created

The generator creates fictional profiles with coordinated ages, occupations, households and relationships. Country and name origin are separate settings, so a character’s residence does not have to match the origin of their name. A reference date determines ages and life histories; a seed helps recreate a cast with the same settings and generator version.

Writers can build a connected cast, designers can populate interface mockups, and developers can use exports as sample records in a test environment. Review field formats and validation rules for your own project before importing a batch.

More than a random name

Edit a character’s story and illustrated appearance, download an avatar or profile card, and explore relationships in the ecosystem view. You can also advance a saved cast’s timeline to create a later chapter. Keep any results you need by exporting them before they expire.

Three ways to generate

01

Single identity

Create one detailed fictional profile, with optional age, region, date and seed controls.

Generate one
02

Bulk generation

Create up to 20 profiles in one batch, then choose which records to export.

03

Ecosystem

Create connected families, friends, neighbors and coworkers around an anchor person.

What “fictional” means here

Generated profiles are synthetic combinations created for examples and creative work. A generated name or place can coincidentally match a real one, but the service is not intended to reproduce complete personal records. Address lines are visibly marked as test-only, contact details use reserved or invalid examples, and payment-style numbers are sandbox fixtures. No result is valid identification, a real contact record or a usable financial credential.

Useful, with honest limits

People and naming traditions are more varied than any generator can represent. Country-aware formatting, family structures, occupations and social connections are simplified fictional models. Results can contain inaccuracies or unlikely combinations, so review them before using them in a prototype, test or publication.

Your results are temporary

Generated profiles are stored temporarily on the service and can be reopened by the browser that created them for 24 hours. Download PDF, CSV, JSON or SQLite-compatible SQL if you want to keep a copy. No account is required. See our Privacy Policy for cookies, browser storage and retention details, or visit Contact Us for support and feedback.

Built for responsible creativity.

Use generated profiles for testing, prototyping, education and storytelling—not impersonation, fraud or identity verification.
