Privacy policy.
You do not need an account or have to give us your name or email address to use FAKE NAME STUDIO. This policy explains the information used to generate fictional profiles, maintain sessions and protect the service.
Effective date: October 7, 2026
1. Information we handle
Information you choose
Generator settings—such as country, name origin, gender, age range, region, date and seed—are sent to the service when you generate a result. Story and appearance edits are processed and saved in your browser; export templates are also stored there. Please do not enter real personal, confidential or sensitive information.
If you email us after a contact address becomes available, your email provider and ours will process the message. Your address, message and any attachments will be used to understand and respond to your request. Support correspondence is separate from generated profiles and is not covered by their 24-hour expiration.
Generated profiles
Fictional profiles, relationships and generation settings are stored temporarily so you can reopen a result, expand a fictional world and download exports. The service associates these records with random browser and session identifiers, not an account.
Essential cookies and browser storage
We set an essential anonymous browser cookie for up to 180 days and an essential session cookie for 24 hours. They help enforce generation allowances, avoid repeated identities and limit access to a result to the browser that created it.
Session storage remembers the latest result for each generator and story and appearance edits made in the current tab. It is normally cleared when the tab closes, although browser session restoration may retain it. Export templates—field selections and column names—are kept in local storage until you delete them or clear site data.
Connection and security information
Our hosting and security provider processes information needed to deliver and protect the site, which can include IP address, device and browser details, request metadata, and security signals. The application uses an IP address to create a keyed daily hash for rate limiting and does not store the raw IP address in its application database. IPv6 addresses are grouped by network prefix, so people on the same connection can share an allowance.
2. How we use information
We use this information only as needed to:
- generate, retrieve, edit and export fictional profiles;
- maintain a session and keep results available for a limited time;
- apply daily usage limits, prevent duplicates and protect against abuse;
- diagnose failures, maintain security and keep the service reliable; and
- display and measure advertising when advertising is enabled and permitted.
We do not sell the fictional profiles you generate, and we do not ask you to create a marketing profile or account.
4. Retention and deletion
Generated profiles become inaccessible after 24 hours, and scheduled cleanup removes expired application records. Session records and duplicate-prevention fingerprints are removed after the session expires and related cleanup completes. Daily usage records are kept briefly for rate limiting and cleanup. Infrastructure backup, security-log and recovery retention may follow separate schedules controlled by our service provider.
Exports are assembled in your browser. After you download a file, it is stored wherever you choose and is no longer controlled by this website.
5. Your choices
- Do not submit real information. Use the fields only for fictional project settings.
- Clear browser data. You can remove cookies, saved export templates and local result references through your browser settings. Doing so may end your session.
- Manage advertising consent. Where available, use “Privacy choices” in the footer to revisit ad-consent settings. Blocking or declining ads does not prevent use of the generator.
- Let results expire. Server-side profiles automatically become inaccessible after 24 hours.
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you additional rights. Because the service does not use accounts and relies on random identifiers, we may need information from your browser to locate a record and may not be able to connect a record to your identity.
6. Children’s privacy
The service is a general-audience project tool and is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to use it in their location. We do not knowingly ask children for personal information. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can review the request.
7. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical measures such as signed, secure cookies, access controls, short retention periods and rate limiting. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to the safeguards and legal terms they apply.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, providers or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes apply going forward from the posted date.
9. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email support@fakenamestudio.com. Please do not include generated profiles or real sensitive information unless it is necessary to explain your request.
